Nitrogen Gas Generator

Nitrogen Gas Generator

Did you know that nitrogen gas can be generated from air?
With Kuraray’s PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) type nitrogen gasgenerator and a power source, nitrogen gas can be easily generated.

Principle of PSA

  • It is a PSA type nitrogen gas generator that uses carbon molecular sieves (CMS) as the adsorbent.

Nitrogen and oxygen are separated using CMS, a special adsorbent with countless small pores on its surface. Through pore-size control technologies, CMS utilizes differences in adsorption speed based on molecular sizes of nitrogen (4.3 × 3.0 Å) and oxygen (3.9 × 2.8 Å) to achieve separation.

CMS is filled into two adsorption vessels. Compressed air is sent from an air compressor into one vessel, where oxygen and carbon dioxide are adsorbed. Meanwhile, the other vessel is depressurized to release the adsorbed gases. By alternating this cycle, nitrogen gas can be generated continuously.

Features

  • Nitrogen gas supply and stop can be controlled simply with ON/OFF switching, enabling easy operation.
  • The equipment operates below 1.0 MPa, making it exempt from the High Pressure Gas Safety Act, eliminating the need for complicated notifications.
  • By installing the equipment on-site, nitrogen gas can be generated in-house, eliminating the need for cylinder replacement and concerns about gas depletion.
  • Kuraray is one of the few companies worldwide that manufactures both the adsorbent and the equipment, allowing optimized product selection based on customer requirements.
  • With more than 40 years of history as a nitrogen gas generator manufacturer and over 4,000 units delivered, we offer proven reliability.
  • We have eight service bases in Japan, providing nationwide support for peace of mind after installation.
