Battery
Why Choose Us
- We have proprietary technologies and extensive expertise that enable us to control the pore diameter and capacity of activated carbon to enhance required functions depending on the application.
- Since launching activated carbon manufacturing and sales in 1965, we have been a pioneer in research and development for battery applications and have an extensive track record both in Japan and overseas.
Products Suitable for This Application
Electric double-layer capacitors, Lithium-ion batteries (LIB), Sodium-ion batteries, Silicon anode materials (SiAC):
In electric double-layer capacitors (EDLC), the large surface area of activated carbon increases charge storage efficiency and enables rapid charge and discharge. In lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, activated carbon is used as a conductive additive, improving electrode reactivity and stability. Furthermore, when combined with silicon anode materials (SiAC), it helps suppress expansion and improve conductivity, contributing to higher capacity in next-generation batteries.
Hard carbon anode materials:
Hard carbon is a carbon material with an amorphous structure distinct from graphite and is gaining attention as an anode material for lithium-ion secondary batteries. Kuraray offers bio-based hard carbon derived from environmentally friendly plant sources.
